Affirming the belovedness of all people, all bodies, and all forms of consensual relationships by creating inclusive faith spaces through comprehensive sexuality education and justice-oriented projects.
We walk alongside faith communities to create more affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ people. We explore how God calls us to liberate our theology of gender and sexuality to create faith communities that are spiritual homes for all. For far too long, the Church has been an institution that has caused harm through purity culture, homophobia and transphobia, and a fear of all things sexual. We envision a Church that leans into joy, love, pleasure, and liberation for all people, and works to dismantle systems of oppression. We believe that gender + sexuality liberation is for EVERYONE!
We offer Our Whole Lives as well as other comprehensive sexuality conversations for communities to explore sexuality and support participants in creating their own pleasurable, affirming, and embodied connections between sexuality and spirituality.
We also offer affirming spiritual and pastoral care to queer folks and their communities.

Juniper Formation is an Open and Affirming congregation, which is a designation within the United Church of Christ to indicate that a community is not only accepting of the LGBTQ+ community, but also sees sexuality and gender identity as an integral part of our theology and community. Without the liberatory expansion that our LGBTQ+ siblings bring, we have a limited and self-harmful understanding of God, ourselves, and our call in the world.
Fee for Service Offerings
We offer Open and Affirming 2.0 workshops for congregations that are already Open and Affirming and are looking to do more specific work around inclusion and belonging for transgender and gender-expansive people.
This workshop and congregational accompaniment is rooted in the belief that gender liberation is for all of us and scripture that helps us to challenge binary thinking.
